St. Barths, St. Martin and Anguilla

All these Saints. You would think all the locals would have halos on their heads. NOT! Chris Columbus named all these islands after obscure places and one after his patron saint, St. Christopher (St. Kitts). After motoring 28 miles into the wind from Saba to St. Barths, I picked up Lou Kizer again and a new crew member, David Stone. We walked around Gustavia, the main harbor of St. Barths. It was an easy sail to St. Maarten (16 miles). At St. Maartin, we picked one more lost soul named Tim Harris. With a full crew, we sailed around to the French side of  the same island, St. Martin. We walked along the streets of the harbor town of Marigot Bay. It is a tourist town set up for the cruise ships with shops and duty free vendors.

Yesterday, all four of us sailed over to Anguilla. The wind was strong and the waves steep. We enjoyed the brisk sailing and ended up in Road Bay, Anguilla ( said like vanilla). We hired a taxi driver named Rubin that showed us all over the island. Thursday at 4 AM we will sail to the BVI to Virgin Gorda and join the full moon festivities on Tortola. Will let you know the events.        Steve
