St. Lucia to Bequia
Finally concluded all items that kept Bella Gatta in St. Lucia. There was a last minute scramble to replace or repair equipment so I would sign off the Moorings as lessee of the vessel, things as simple as new toilet seats to a complete new set of sails. The entire staff at the Marigot Bay Moorings Base were very helpful and friendly.
So, Sunday morning the lines were cast off and sails raised. The distance from Marigot Bay, St. Lucia (see photo) to Bequia is 60 miles. The weather was perfect and we saw lots of sealife. Passed by a pod of pigmy whales, which are not much bigger than dolphin. Twice, Spotted Dolphin in groups of about 25 swam all around the boat (see Photo). They really enjoy swimming between the hulls so you can look down their blow-holes. Two nights in Bequia then off to Canouan and diving in the Tobago Cays.
