Heading home soon!
After countless trips to the marinas, customs, immigrations, contractors and supply stores, I have all my ducks in a row (I think). Bella Gatta will be hauled Monday morning by a boatyard named Catamaran Village. They specialize in multihull sailboats. The owner is a very Frenchman named Phillipe Richard. His accent is so strong, I understand every other word. That is just enough for us to communicate. They will take good care of her. There will be a mechanic to service the engines and workers to polish the decks and hulls. Mainly, they keep Bella Gatta safe with a full time guard.
Since Wednesday was a national holiday, Oliver and I walked all around the capital city, Port of Spain. It is a good sized real city with skyscrapers and rush hour traffic. Oliver had already checked out alot since he had 2 days ahead of me there. We went to the zoo and the Botanical Gardens. The zoo was very clean and the animals healthy. We thought about a tour into the rainforest, but decided that we would see only a fraction of the wildlife and have a 4 hour round trip ride. So we saw all the local animals and saved a few hundred bucks;)
The new posted photos are of the city, the marinas (just a small portion of them) and some Muslim women in their full outfits. See you all soon. Steve
